Set up your own WiFi by bringing or buying a router. Closest store to buy a router is Mediamarkt next to Amsterdam Central Station.

The Wi-Fi is a supportive network, it can be slower during rush hours and/or in certain part of the building(s). If you want a constant Wi-Fi network we recommend you create your own Wi-Fi with the wired connection in your room if you are staying more than just a few weeks.

When a problem occurs, the solution lies in contacting the internet provider directly, not via Lieven De Key.

Wired internet

In order to connect to the wired internet connection in your room follow these steps:

  • Connect your computer with a UTP network cable (see photo below) to the wall outlet in your room. Bring your own or buy your own that is suited for your device. Lieven De Key does not provide cables!
  • Boot your computer and go to www.google.com
  • You will be prompted with information from the internet provider to read and agree to the rules of engagement.
  • Fill out the requested information. (you need your tenancy agreement number)
  • Reboot your computer and you are ready to go.
