How many homes will there be in Crossroads?
Crossroads will be a sustainable residential tower near Sloterdijk Station with 132 studios, 66 of which are intended for Dutch students.
When will the homes be delivered?
The key release is scheduled for February 3.
Who are eligible to live in Crossroads?
All students with proof of enrolment from an Amsterdam educational institution can get a campus contract. Some housing is only available to students under 23 years of age.
How is it determined who gets housing?
Allocation is done on the basis of your registration time with Studentenwoningweb.
Do you get to choose your home?
No, you register for a type of accommodation via Studentenwoningweb. If you are invited for a digital viewing, you can then pass on your preferences via Studentenwoningweb. There is no guarantee that your preferences will be allocated.
How big are the houses and what facilities do they have?
The studios are 24 m² or 34 m² in size. Each studio has its own kitchen, bathroom and a connection for a washing machine or dishwasher.
How will the homes be delivered?
The homes come with floor and wall finishes. You arrange your own furniture.
What is the rent?
There are two rents: €454.47 and €650.42 (price level 2024). This may increase slightly in 2025. The rent excludes electricity, water and heat.
Electricity and water: You arrange this yourself through a supplier and Waternet.
Heat: Is supplied by Eteck. As a resident, you will enter into a contract for this yourself.
Internet: This is included in the service charge and is provided by Ziggo.
Can I get rent allowance?
For 24 sq m studios, you can apply for rent allowance if you are 18-22 years old.
For 34 sq m studios, you must be at least 23 years old to qualify.
Check your situation on the Inland Revenue website.
Are there common areas?
There is no general meeting space. However, there are shared corridors, a lift and indoor bicycle storage. On the ground floor is a Wash & go for washing and drying clothes. There are also commercial spaces on the first and second floors, the fill-in of which is not yet known.
Is there bicycle parking or scooter parking?
Yes, there is an indoor bicycle shed with its own space for each resident. Scooters must be parked outside.
Where can I wash my clothes?
Next to the main entrance is a Wash & go where you can wash and dry clothes for a fee. You can also hook up a washing machine in your own studio.
